This summer people from around the world tuned in to the 2016 Olympics in Rio. We found ourselves embracing the spirit of unity, leadership and excellence. Speaking of unity, leadership, and excellence, the Art Docents of Los Gatos are looking for future leaders to join us in our program that works for the betterment of the Los Gatos Community.
The last Apprenticeship Training Class brought us 17 new, dynamic, intelligent volunteers. Offering a high level of enthusiasm, we give our trainees an art history education while teaching them the skills to perform hands-on and classroom roles. Our program unlocks a door to opportunity that you may not otherwise receive anywhere in Silicon Valley.
There is so much we do — for our students, community and each other — including our Annual Holiday Parade and Annual Student Art Show, Book Club, social events, and working with many similar organizations that advance the common good in Los Gatos. That’s why we intend to expand our program every year.
The energy and optimism about the future that I see in our volunteers exemplifies the spirit of the Art Docents — and I hope that you see it too — all across our district. As we accelerate our path forward, nothing would make me more proud than to recruit spirited community members with a passion for art, children and education. Join us at our OPEN HOUSE on Thursday, September 15th, 2016 at 9am to learn more. I hope you enjoy the year and thank you for supporting us.
